Can there ever be enough Tim Tebow news?

Fearless Christian football great uses his status to help spread the Good Word

After Tim Tebow rode the Denver Broncos over the Pittsburgh Steelers this past weekend in a last-minute upset, 29-23, on account of the NFL's shortest recorded overtime, all eyes are on the fearless footballer. At a time when celebrities, both in and out of the world of sports are beset with scandal, Tebow remains a committed Christian dedicated to spreading the Good Word.

Footballer Tim Tebow is fond of sneaking in the Bible verse, John 3:16 - 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life' - whenever he can.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Tebow is fond of sneaking in the Bible verse, John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" -  whenever he can.

There were lots of eerie similarities to that verse lining up with his most recent victory. The fact that Tebow had 316 yards passing and averaged 31.6 yards per pass in the game didn't escape notice on Sunday night.

Tebow also wore "John 3:16" on his eye black in the 2009 BCS Championship game and has since become identified with the famous Bible message.

The coincidence sent millions of fans to perform Google searches on the Bible passage in 24 hours. Here's one more unbelievable stat: John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reports that the final quarter-hour television rating for the Broncos-Steelers game was, you guessed it, 31.6.

Tebow earned $250,000 for the win based on an incentive written into his contract. Since he took 70 percent of the team's snaps this season, he is entitled to a quarter-million dollars for every Broncos playoff victory.

Twitter announced that 9,420 tweets per second were sent immediately after Tebow's overtime touchdown pass, setting a new sports record for the social media site.

In addition, the television ratings for Broncos-Steelers could provide a clue: The game pulled in a whopping 25.9 rating for CBS, becoming the highest-rated AFC wild-card game since 1988. This is highly significant as 24 years ago, there was no Internet and before a majority of Americans had cable or satellite. The entertainment journal Variety estimates 45 million people watched Tebow's touchdown pass in overtime.

Pop diva Lady Gaga was watching Tebow's heroics as well and sent a tweet to her 17 million followers after the game.

Tebow was the first NFL player to complete four passes of 30 plus yards in a single quarter of an NFL playoff game.

Tebow has reasons to smile -- ESPN's QBR rating says Tebow's second quarter was the third-best single quarter from a QB in the NFL since 2008.

I am surprised how few Catholics know of the nature of the Tebow minitries, which is anti-catholic. Tim is a son Bob Tebow, as well as a faithful volunteer and financial contributor of BTEA which has, since 1985, been spreading false teachings throughout the Philippines to deceivingly lure Catholics out of the Catholic Church.

Even though over 80% of the population of the Philippines is Catholic, the BTEA says this on their website:

"The Philippines, a country comprised of over 7,100 islands, has historically been an area of abuse and conquest. Of the 86 million Filipinos, we estimate that over 65 million have never once heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

Tim Tebow, is no hero of mine.
