Doomsday is approaching! The symbolic Doomsday Clock moves closer to the fatal end

Doomsday is the closest it's been since 1953, according to the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists' "Doomsday Clock." The clock now stands at three minutes to midnight. Midnight represents the end of the world.
We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The Doomsday Clock, created in 1947, is used to show how close the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists believe the world is to Doomsday. They gauge their estimates on nuclear weapon activity and, in recent years, global warming.
"In 2015, unchecked climate change, global nuclear weapons modernizations, and outsized nuclear weapons arsenals pose extraordinary and undeniable threats to the continued existence of humanity, and world leaders have failed to act with the speed or on the scale required to protect citizens from potential catastrophe" The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists Science and Security Board said in a statement about the recent time movement.

The closest the Doomsday Clock has been was 11:58 pm. The group felt two minutes to midnight was appropriate because the U.S. and Russia both tested thermonuclear devices within nine months.
"We do not advise Americans that doomsday is near and that they can expect atomic bombs to start falling on their heads a month or year from now. But we think they have reason to be deeply alarmed and to be prepared for grave decisions," explained Alexander Langsdorf, one of the founding members of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. Langsdorf's wife, Martyl created the clock, setting it at 11:53. Langsdorf moved it forward four minutes in 1949.
There's still time! Take care of your health--
The furthest the clock has ever been to midnight was 17 minutes to midnight in 1991, when the Cold War officially ended. The clock moved up three minutes three years later though upon the realization that more than 40,000 nuclear weapons existed around the world.
"The probability of global catastrophe is very high," the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists conclude, "and the actions needed to reduce the risks of disaster must be taken very soon."
