LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - A Catholic humanitarian group, Aid to the Church in Need, issued a report that the 15 of the Assyrians taken from Hassake in Syria were murdered.
Catholic agencies in Syria were given the news from Abbot Emanuel Youkhana, who also said that 350 Christians are still in the hands of the barbaric group.
"Around 15 young Assyrians are martyred," he said. "Many of them were fighting to defend and protect the villages and families."
"It is believed there are casualties and many Assyrians have been killed in the village," he added.
There is no news as to where these Christians may be being held, but Youkhana believes that they have been taken to a nearby region. "Most probably, they have been captured and transported to Mount Abdul Aziz," he said.
February is a month for love and devotion.
The same report from Aid to the Church in Need provided a chilling detail. People in the nearby village of Bab Alfaraj, mostly Sunnis, were ordered to attend a "mass killing of infidels," at Mount Abdul Aziz.
It is unclear if, or when these Christians will be executed, but with the Islamic State we can be certain that only blood will flow from the Middle East.
